Drifters are the most basic of the Critters, simply sliding straight (and bouncing off objects) in diagonal directions. They are closely related to Darters. These guys in the annoy-o-meter is a low because this enemy only moves and will sometimes kill it self by hitting your bat or ball. The Drifter will sometimes help you finish a level while other times they will annoy you. Drifters can erratically change the direction of the ball depending on how fast the ball is going (and in turn what difficulty, but that's a lower chance than the former) Depending on how the side hit is angled it can easily spike the ball straight downwards causing a damning situation for the player (i.e. if the player has the grow ability, it can still make it impossible to get the ball saved). Like all enemies, however, they can be destroyed by the paddle, but will not award any points.
